Chasing Ella

This was my second visit with Ella Grace but this time she brought her older brother and sister. We had great fun trying to slow Ella down. And from looking at the photos we were successful! The older Owens are used to me taking their picture at the school they attend. Kendra (adding the feminine side to West Vita Photography) put together a beautiful Christmas card from the shoot.

This is the second time I've had the wonderful opportunity to shoot these two little ladies. The Stokes girls are not only beautiful but they are super fun to shoot. I love how Georgia calls me by my full name - "hello West Vita". And Ellie is so nice when I accidently call here Georgia:) Their mom used these photos for there Christmas Card and summed up their year with a great line of "Glory in the Highest!"

I got a chance to hang out with these kids over the Christmas break. Their mom told us to go out and have a good time. What a cool mom! So we cruised B-Town and got these happy sibling shots. Also, I couldn't help getting some solo photos of this good-looking group.

This is the band that makes the amazing music you can hear on my site. They've got an awesome sound going down! I was a fan of Hacienda before I had the good fortune of shooting them (which made this extra cool for me). These brothers and a cousin put on a live show that will make you dance... if you can. I was glad to hear they got a new CD out in April titled-Big Red and Barbacoa.

Matt and Alex are some sweet peeps. I had a blast shooting their engagement session in downtown SA. Their wedding was at the beautiful Ye Kendall Inn in Boerne. It's actually the same place that I got married at ten years ago. So, it was especially cool to be there last weekend. The wedding was beautiful. It included a dog with a tie, a pyramid, a lotta college hand signs and songs... just to name a few.

This Senior and I had a good time out in B-town. It's always fun to shoot a fellow photographer. I was glad his mom came along, they seem to be pretty good pals. She even played the role of reflector lady for a few shots. Yay, Moms! After sweatin' it out outdoors, we cooled it off in the studio for some sweet, strobe-lit shots.

These two are getting married in October, only two days after my tenth anniversary at the same location.

I could tell this was gonna be a fun shoot right off the bat when Matt pulled out his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt, and Alex revealed her killer smile. We had tons of fun exploring downtown SA together for their engagement pics, aren't they cute?

It was truly an honor to shoot this beautiful wedding. While fighting for our country in Afghanistan, Samuel was severely burned. He was sent to the burn unit at BAMC, and it was there that he met his beautiful bride, Amy who was his dietitian.

It was such a joyful event. The best man had the crowd laughing and crying at the same time as he delivered his toast to the happy couple. Here are just a few of my faves:

Last week, I got to spend some time with these two beautiful, redheaded sisters. Big sister was so fun and playful. I had a great time getting some beautiful shots of her. Fun in the Country

We've been friends with this family for a long time. Baby number five was added a little over a year ago, and they decided that they were long overdue for a family portrait. Their kids are amazingly polite and well behaved, and I got a lot of great images of them. There were so many great places to shoot on their family's ranch!

Baby Trip

I got to photograph this little dude last week. Trip is the son of first time parents Jay and Rachael Kuper. I got to photograph them just before Trip was born, so it was fun to get to meet him. The session went pretty smoothly, there was only one baby minus diaper mishap. And, it was mostly just funny.

From Traditional to Unique

This Senior shoot was great to do because I needed to keep it traditional on the first half, and we got to move into a little more of my natural style during the second half. It's good for me to stretch myself and work on both styles. Mom was pleased that we found a Mountain Laurel. And, I love that I found a good, dirty bridge.

This family is so cool. We've known them for quite awhile, and love them for their generosity. She put together some amazing landscape plans for us that made a HUGE difference in the front of our house. These kiddos are growing up with two in college and one in High School. I had an awesome time shooting this couple's wedding at the Trois Estate near Enchanted Rock. This place is such a cool venue for getting married. Seriously, the Enchanted Rock, is right there. It's actually visible from the hill at the estate. This couple was great to work with. Best wishes to you both.

Fun in the Studio

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing this happy baby in the studio. She was too cute to limit wall portraits to only a few. So, we modified our sweet 16 collage to a sweet 12. This print will be adhered to one of our beautiful wood box mounts which will give a sleek, museum-like quality. Plus, it requires no framing!

After all of the school portraits that we've taken this month, we feel like we now know just about every child in Boerne. It has been so much fun to get to work with so many wonderful, local schools and students. Here's one of my personal favorite student photos. I guess I'm a little biased about her cuteness. Mothers are usually that way.

Mas Seniors

Sorry it's been so long since we've posted. September was quite a busy month, and October is even busier! But, we wanted to share with you a couple more Seniors who were simply smashing.

Ms. K had an amazing smile (as her mother continually reminded us ; ) And, she had some great ideas for her photos. We love it when our Seniors come to us with location ideas, it makes the session more personal and it's tons of fun to scout out new places around town. It was tough to choose, but here is one of our faves from her session. We're loving her orange hair with the orange couch.

Mr. C knew just how to strike a pose, he also had a pretty impressive vocabulary. Again, he came to us with some of his own ideas...which we loved. This session included a narrow escape from some rushing waters - very Indiana Jones-like. This photo was lovingly titled by Mr. C and his mother "another brick in the wall."

Champion High Senior

We had a fun shoot with the B-town Senior last week. Miss Kalie and her sweet mother were a pleasure to work with, they even bought us a snowcone. (thanks, ladies) We hiked from country to city on this one, and finished off in the cool AC of the studio where Kalie posed for some fab b-ball shots.

This past Labor Day, we had the honor of photographing this friendly family. It was easy to see what a tight family bond they have. Little Miss E sure did love the camera, she made our job easy. A Night Out in B-town

This lovely Mom contacted me to photograph her with her daughter. We had fun walking the back ways around town and enjoyed a trip to the snow cone stand. Miss J, the daughter, had a great personality that really shines through in her photos. And, Ms K made taking photos a breeze.

A Night at the Nature Center

The nearby Cibolo Nature Center is a great place to take your kiddos out for a free evening of fun and exploring. It is also one of our favorite photography locations. We've done many beautiful portraits out there. Last night, we took our children out for a little fun, and caught some pretty cute images.

Our little dude had a great time splashing through the shallow parts of the creek. Judging by his pants, I'd say he splashed in some not-so-shallow parts, too.

Our silly girl stopped to smell the flowers. She's always doing cute things like that.

Our firstborn stops to look at Daddy because the light is perfect.

The S Family

This dear mother was our prize winner at the adventure fest. She won a free family portrait session, and boy was she thrilled. You see, we were able to catch one last picture of her son before he headed out east to college. She told us that she had not had a professional family portrait done since her daughter was six months old! What a privilage for us to take this picture, and what a good looking family I might add. Here are some of the highlights of our session:

Miss K did a bang up job smiling for the camera despite the mosquitos.

The camera loved the whole family, including Bonnie the dog.

We were even able to sneak in a more romantic shot of this good looking couple.

And, this is D, the one who has officially begun the new adventure of college. He wears a serious face well. Congratulations to you, and may God bless these exciting years!
